Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise that has been practiced in China for centuries. The slow, flowing movements provide the benefits of exercise without the stress and danger often associated with high-impact sports.
Tai Chi is good for people of all ages, and it is especially helpful for seniors. Tai Chi’s has been extensively studied and the many benefits have been proven over and over:
Improves balance, strengthens joints, and decreases pain
Improves immunity while decreasing stress levels
Improves concentration and breathing patterns
Reduces the inflammation and pain of arthritis
Excellent for managing diabetes and shingles
In the 2006 Harvard Medical Study, Tai Chi was even proven to equal the cardio benefits of brisk walking!
You don’t need anything special to take a class in Tai Chi. A pair of flat-soled sneakers (like Keds or flexible shoes like Naturalizer), comfortable clothes, an open mind and willing spirit is all it takes to get started.

Testimonials
"I have been very fortunate to study Tai Chi from Johanna since the fall of 2008. She is an excellent instructor of the practice and a gifted group leader. Johanna has a wonderful way of celebrating each of her students' improvements as they learn and grow in class. She easily creates a welcoming environment for learning, meeting other students, and self exploration of the practice."
